About the Flames

The Fraser Coast Anglican College Sports Association has been set up as a formal sporting club, meeting once a term. Over 90 teams currently participate throughout the year in local evening and weekend sporting competitions.

The "Fraser Flames" is the banner under which students, staff, family and friends compete in club competition within the Hervey Bay community. Sports currently played are Hockey, Football, Rugby Union, Touch, Netball, Tennis, Basketball and Chess.

Students are enthusiastically and capably supported by the College Sport Association and its members and College staff, to achieve to their best of their own potential. Our large group of volunteer coaches, managers, supporters and sponsors make it possible to offer highly equipped teams and state of the art playing gear with games played all year round in a variety of sports.

Fraser Flames review sport offerings from year to year. While some may see the range as limited it must be remembered that it would be impossible to support all sports due to costs, numbers in teams, the amount of student involvement and supplying coaches and managers for all teams. A number of students play sports outside of the College program and are encouraged to do so.
